Who We Are
EcoSomatic Action is anchored by Rachel Kaplan, MA, MFT, long-time artist, social change facilitator, & somatic healer, in collaboration with other change makers.
EcoSomatic Action is a move away from one-on-one personal work in a psychological frame toward the dynamic domain of group learning in an ecological frame. We believe this moment of collective challenge is best served through our collective response.
This book is a must for anyone concerned about escalating climate change impacts and looking for ideas on adapting in daily life.
Key topics include: Managing water, waste and energy at the micro level; self-reliance and community-building; raising children with life-centered values; and invaluable resources for taking care of yourself while taking care of the world.

“Rachel Kaplan is a treasure—a dear friend, collaborator and part of my healing team. She harbors ancient embodied wisdom and leverages intuition, a plethora of practices (from somatics to permaculture to ceremony and play) and robust life experiences to bring about profound healing and transformation in those lucky enough to work with her. My experiences working with Rachel have impacted and changed me.” —Dana Pearlman
“Rachel carries a richness of skill, compassion, and wisdom. Her encouragement fosters dignity and embodiment. She lends herself wholeheartedly to bearing witness to, reflecting, and articulating what is alive. Rachel’s presence is a true gift – generous, honest, and kind.” —Rose Rothfeder
